Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Crystal

What is crystal? Although much of the crystal that we purchase today is man made, crystal is a natural mineral that grows in a number of different places, usually in caves deep within the earth. Unlike glass, which is made of sand, crystal is made of rock that has taken years to form. Today, much of the crystal that you purchase in the stores is made from synthetics and not grown in caves.

Crystal is used in glasses, dinnerware and even as jewelry. For centuries, crystal was thought to have magical powers. Ancient people used crystal to see into the future and decide on important aspects of life. There is a certain mystique to crystal.

In the last few years, crystals for health and better living have come back into focus in the world. Many people are using crystals as healing powers and to get what they want out of life. Like the ancient Druids, many are starting to believe in the healing power of crystals and other precious gems that are found within the earth.

Crystal is not just for toasting your wedding ceremony any longer, although the largest manufacturers of crystal are still those in the business of making wine glasses. Today, we can see crystal that is sold as collectibles in the shape of just about anything, as well a crystal balls that are used as both ornaments and to answer questions about life and the future. Some people are still able to read crystal.

If you want to see natural crystal formations, you have to visit one of the caves that are located throughout the country. Here you will see the different crystals growing on the walls of the caves in all the many splendid colors. When we think of crystal today, we often think of it as being clear, but when it grows, it usually consists of many different colors, depending on the chemistry of the cave.

Crystal has made its way into jewelry in recent years and many people are now sporting crystal necklaces as well as earrings and bracelets. It seems that this semi precious gem has now found a new life of its own.

It has healing powers. It has seeing powers. It can tell the past, present and future. Its mysteries date back thousands of years and it is both beautiful and collectible - crystal is clearly more than just used for drinking wine. It is a useful and desirable collectible.

The next time you have to buy a gift for someone, consider giving them crystal. No matter what form you decide to give them - be it a glass, a figure or even a crystal ball or ornament, you are sure to give them an object of beauty, mystery and timeless elegance.
